Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and equipment standard legal forms and documents used in the Judiciary basic English and arithmetic to include, but not limited to, spelling, punctuation, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Note: A Bachelor’s Degree may substitute the required work experience.Ī Paralegal/Associates Degree or 60 college credits may substitute the required work experience.Ī Paralegal Certificate may substitute for the required work experience. This position is considered essential personnel.Įducation: High School Diploma (or GED equivalent)Įxperience: One (1) year of work experience, preferably in court operations, or in the fields of criminal justice, parole, and probation, legal or financial services. If needed, assists with processing new civil cases. When necessary, open and distribute mail and prepare Sheriff’s transmittal. Provide them with appropriate forms and direct them to wherever they need to go in the courthouse. Assists customers at the counter and over the telephone with questions. Processes all other types of rent cases including breach of lease, tenant holding over, wrongful detainer and rent escrow. Cases are then entered and scanned into the electronic case management system. After court, mail notifications to all parties of the disposition. Prepares landlord/tenant docket for court. Processes all failure to pay rent cases which includes sending notices to parties. Creates civil cases in order to create an invoice for ringing filing fees through the cash register. Balance cash drawer at the end of the day and review daily reports from the cash register. Creates invoices and accept payments for all types of fines, costs, and filing fees and validate through cash register. The incumbent is also responsible for processing all types of landlord/tenant cases. Serves as the Information Clerk by assisting customers at the counter. The Judiciary Clerk (Cashier) is responsible for accepting monies for fines, costs, and filing fees.
